FORTHCOMING EVENTS Welcome to a new school year, where we welcome back our morning parents and say a warm hello to our new afternoon parents. We're sure it wont take long before we're all back into the swing of things. The nights are starting to draw in and before we know it, Autumn activities will lead headlong into our Christmas preparations. When our budding actors and actresses take centre stage for our Christmas nativity and songs. Could we please ask that as the weather gets colder that your childs outer clothing is clearly named! As you can imagine when faced with 20 pairs of gloves, scarves, hats etc its a daunting task working out whose is whose at the end of the session when you're all stood outside freezing whilst we play....." who do these belong to!!" The website is updated regularly but please also look on the notice board in the cloakroom as things usually get posted there before I get my I.T head on and remember how to do this! SPORTS DAY Thanks to everyone who attended sports day this year. The weather was kind and I think you'll agree a fun morning was had by all. It was lovely to see so many families and extended families supporting the children who I think we can all agree enjoyed the fun. The children particularly enjoyed watching the parents racing and the Dads who took part in the welly Wanging Competition. I believe Emily Holts Dad threw the farthest so a big well done to him!! To all the parents who provided cakes to sell and the delicious food served, many thanks!! For the afternoon children - you have to do it all again next year!!! RACE NIGHT Our first Committee event this school year will be a Race Night at Walshaw Sports Club, on 15th October. We hope parents old and new will join us for what we hope will be another fun packed evening. More details to follow by newsletter. COMMITTEE We have an active Parent Committee who put on fund raising events for our children and their families throughout the year and if you'd like to join, then please speak to a member of staff who will introduce you. Meetings are relaxed and informal and not too frequent and anyone is welcome to join and bring along fresh ideas! The more the merrier! Next meeting is Tuesday 14th September 2011

Leavers Party Friday 16th July 9.00am to noon. Parents please join us at 11.45am for songs and goodbyes!!!
Assembly
Each Friday starting 11th June, staff will be taking small groups into school to join in their family assembly, to get them used to sitting quietly in a large hall full of people. Your child's keyworker will speak to you to arrange a date over the next few weeks.
Changing for PE
Getting changed in a room full of children is something that cannot be practiced at home. If you do not leave your things the right way round on the table in front of you and your shoes under your seat, when you get back from PE someone else will be wearing them! In a small bag please bring a t-shirt, shorts and either pumps or trainers, they do not have to be uniform but please be aware of too many fiddly buttons and laces!! The children will be doing this with minimal help. Due to lack of space please bring each Friday as they cannot be stored in the cloakroom.
Over the next few weeks Mrs Burns and Miss Kisby will be coming into pre-school to play with and get to know the children.
Keyworkers will be completing Profile Folders over the next few weeks ready to send home before they leave. Over half term Margaret will be filling in the transition to school paperwork on the children's achievements as specified in the Early Foundation Stage Curriculum.
